HANDMADE CHRISTMAS CARDS
Add a personal and creative touch this Christmas by making your own
edition of hand-made cards. Using a range of playful printmaking
techniques this workshop will guide you through making a small
edition of 20 special cards. Combining a variety of printmaking
techniques including; monoprinting, oil transfer, chine colle, blind
embossing, and colour washes to create your own special edition or a
series of unique cards to give to friends and family this year.

Laura Hudson (b. 1966, County
Durham) is a cross-disciplinary
artist, curator and horticulturist. She
studied Environmental Art at
Glasgow School of Art (BA 1989) and
artist moving image at Central St. Martins (PGDip 1992) before working in film
curation and digital media in Glasgow & London. Returning to Fine Art in 2015
she was made print fellow at Plymouth College of Art and a visiting tutor on
the drawing, painting and printmaking BA. In 2019 she was awarded an MA
with Distinction from City & Guilds of London Art School and won the Roger
de Grey Drawing Prize and the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize whilst a
student.
In 2020 she was invited as artist in residence by Hertford Arts Hub to respond
to their collection of work by the Scottish painter Alan Davie, the outcome of
which is the Book of Jings!. Laura’s work is held in private collections
internationally and was recently acquired for the Ruth Borchard Next
Generation collection.
